Cathcart’s Baptist Encyclopedia deemed this book as “a work of great labor and of unusual value.”  To greatly enhance the usefulness of this book we have enlarged the format to a 7 x 10 trim size, increasing the text by 15% to aid readability.  We have also replaced the original 8-page index with an all new 75- page comprehensive index, including a complete Index of Persons (with over 1,100 names!), a concise Index of Churches, a Subject Index and a Scripture Index.   In addition we have included two maps and 25 illustrations, not found in previous editions of this work, of early pastors and meeting-houses of the Association during this period.
