Alexander Stewart went from being a young convert in Scotland to becoming the founding pastor of one the most influential Baptist churches in Canada. Although his ministry had many ups and downs, his impact on the Baptist witness of what would become Toronto is undeniable. His gifts as an evangelist and Bible teacher helped to establish the congregation that would eventually become Jarvis Street Baptist Church. --Stephen Bedard
