From the moment his ministry began, A. W. Pink instructed the people of God. . . .Pink longed to see local churches committed to a pure, robust and biblical vision, but he could never find one for himself, and he remained skeptical reformation would take place in his day. Ironically, Pink’s pessimism fueled his pen. He labored to feed the most basic tenets of the Bible to all who would come to his trough. Pink spent the last chapter of his life in self-imposed exile, the editor of his own, long-running magazine, Studies in the Scriptures. . . . Pink never knew the impact his ministry had on the wider church. Regardless of how many issues of the Studies he shipped out each month, he assumed only a few would be read, and even less actually studied. But like Jeremiah, prophesying into the wind, Pink endured. For all his faults, he proved himself a warm Calvinist, a severe critic, and, above all, a humble teacher. --Aaron Menikoff
