Samuel W. Ziegler: b. 1822; d. Jan. 30, 1892, Lewisburg, Pa.; baptized and united with Tenth Baptist, Phila.; m. Martha E. _________ (1822-Mar. 12, 1890, Lewisburg, Pa.); lic. 1853, Tenth Baptist, Phila.; ord. Nov. 9, 1854, Leiperville, Delaware Co., Pa.; pastor, First Particular Baptist, Ridley, Pa., 1854-Jan. 1856, supply pastor, Medford, N.J., Aug. 1856-1857?, West Phila., ? - ? , White Deer, Pa., 1860; appointed by the Northumberland Association as “an itinerant evangelist, or colporteur, to labor within the bounds of the Association…at a salary of $400, two-thirds of which was pledged by members of the Association, the remainder to be paid by the American Baptist Publication Society,” 1866-1870; listed in the P.B.A. Minutes as a minister w.c. under pastor Joseph Perry (q.v.) at Mariners’ Baptist Bethel, Phila., 1870-[1872], pastor, Benton, Pa. The gravesites for Ziegler and his wife Martha are in the Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
