John Gilmour has rightly been described as a man of “truly apostolic spirit.” So great was his love for the cause of Jesus Christ among the lost, and so faithful his service to the body of Christ, that he gave himself with undiminished zeal to all his endeavors. Though he is remembered primarily for his labors in establishing the first Baptist college in Canada, the entirety of his life is rich with exemplary Christian love, suffering, faithfulness, and joy, and he was largely responsible for the whole of Baptist influence in the area of Peterborough, Ontario. . . --Rylan Auger
