This unique collection of stories was written by our late co-founder, Gary W. Long. The book is designed to be read to children of all ages. Bro. Gary takes a story or concept from the Scriptures and weaves a narrative around it, sometimes with animals, sometimes with people, sometimes with both, but always drives you to the Scriptures to find the Truth. This unique approach is captivating, causing even the adults in the room to listen intently. There are five contributing illustrators - two from our church that were involved when Bro. Gary read the stories to our children and three from his own family. There are over 70 black and white illustrations in the book.

Good stories are good for children - and grown-ups, too. As C. S. Lewis noted, “A children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story in the slightest.” The stories in this collection have been enjoyed by both children and adults (including adults who were children themselves when they first heard them read). . . . Bro. Gary had a heart for the Lord, and for His Word, and for souls, including the souls of children. He was a lover of history, and of words (and apparently of crows), and the Lord used his rich imagination in many ways, including writing poetry and fiction. These loves were melded together in these stories.
